Building Saints Capital Campaign

Performing Arts Center

On Wednesday, September 30, 2020, it was announced that OCS and Bill and Cindy Stewart had partnered together to leave a significant impact on many generations of OCS Saints. This partnership includes a new performing arts center, named in memory of their son, Gabe, and a $1 million endowment to provide for ongoing education and training, so students and families are equipped to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

The Gabe Stewart Memorial Hall project will be considered Phase 2 of the Building Saints Capital Campaign. The performing arts center will serve as a venue for middle and high school chapels, performing arts programs, school assemblies and community events requiring theater seating. This 25,000 square foot auditorium will adjoin the high school to the south. It will feature 500 seats and state-of-the-art technology, as well as:

  • High-Tech Sound and Lighting
  • Fly System for Drama Sets
  • Dressing Rooms
  • Stagecraft Design Shop
  • Set and Prop Storage
  • Drama Classroom
  • Theater Seating
  • Flexible Space/Orchestra Pit
  • Lobby and Ticket Window

Bill and Cindy’s generous endowment will be named the Gabe Stewart Memorial Endowment. It will provide a Director of Spiritual Formation, who will be integrally involved in the many spiritual formation efforts at OCS. This director will oversee programs and activities including:

  • Biblical discipleship
  • Addiction and substance abuse
  • Biblical sexual morality
  • Responsible use of technology
  • Healthy social relationships

Saints Annual Fund

Goal: $500,000 Per Year

The Saints Annual Fund is a yearly campaign to support academic infrastructure and campus-wide enhancements. These gifts are unrestricted and directed to the greatest need of the school. The Saints Annual Fund has a direct impact on our students, faculty, parents, and the entire OCS community. Maintaining an annual fund is considered one of the best practices among independent schools and universities to supplement their educational offerings from year to year.

Committee Chairs: John and Kristi Harrington

Our family is blessed to be a part of the OCS community.  For over 15 years, at each grade level, and in every facility, our three children have received the gift of a Christ-centered, academically rigorous education.  We have watched God us OCS to build a rich foundation in our children’s lives.  Now, with two off to college, and the third a high school sophomore, we have an opportunity to give back to the place that has given so much to us.  We are enthusiastic about the remarkable work God is doing to build up students at OCS; and we are delighted to partner with other families to invest in the next generation of OCS Saints.
