On October 5, 2019, Oklahoma Christian School publicly launched Building Saints capital campaign, a $17.5 million effort that will change the face of the OCS campus and provide new state-of-the art facilities for the benefit of current and future elementary students. This will also allow OCS and Life.Church to have completely distinct campuses with room to expand.
Campaign Priority #1: New Elementary School Building
Included in this approximately 70,000 square foot, two-story building will be:
- 32 spacious classrooms with plenty of natural light
- Purpose built classrooms for music, art, and STEM
- A multipurpose gymnasium with an attached stage for elementary chapel and performances
- Enhanced security
- Improved handicap accessibility
- A new cafeteria for K-12 lunch
- Gymnasium and cafeteria that serves as a FEMA approved safe room for inclement weather
- An updated library/media center
Project Cost: $17.5 Million
Million Dollar Match
The JASCO Giving Hope Foundation has generously provided a dollar for dollar match for new gifts and commitments up to one million dollars through December 31, 2019. With this gift, they hope to support our efforts of building philanthropy within our community, inspiring others to give generously and allowing us to complete this building project.
We ask that you pray for OCS, our students, our leaders, and for this campaign. We know that God can do more than we can ask or imagine, and we want to see His will in all that we do, giving Him all the glory. Please join us in prayer for God to transform not only our campus so that we can more effectively carry out our mission, but also that He touches and transforms the lives of each of our students so that they seek to serve Him with all of their heart.
Campaign Priority #2 - Saints Annual Fund
Goal: $300,000 Per Year
The Saints Annual Fund is a yearly campaign to support academic infrastructure and campus-wide enhancements. These gifts are unrestricted and directed to the greatest need of the school. The Saints Annual Fund has a direct impact on our students, faculty, parents, and the entire OCS community. Maintaining an annual fund is considered one of the best practices among independent schools and universities to supplement their educational offerings from year to year.
Committee Chairs: John and Kristi Harrington
Our family is blessed to be a part of the OCS community. For over 15 years, at each grade level, and in every facility, our three children have received the gift of a Christ-centered, academically rigorous education. We have watched God us OCS to build a rich foundation in our children’s lives. Now, with two off to college, and the third a high school sophomore, we have an opportunity to give back to the place that has given so much to us. We are enthusiastic about the remarkable work God is doing to build up students at OCS; and we are delighted to partner with other families to invest in the next generation of OCS Saints.
