H.E.R.O.E.S. Week was founded in 2003 with the goal of meeting the needs of both physically and spiritually of local or overseas nonprofit organizations. H.E.R.O.E.S. stands for hands extended reflecting our exalted savior. Simply put, that is exactly what our mission is. We are working together as a school to glorify Jesus Christ and shine His light, not only to the chosen organization but also to the Edmond community. We are thrilled about the opportunity and experiences that lie ahead and hope that you see the value of what H.E.R.O.E.S. Week will accomplish. Our commitment to this value shaped this years decision on choosing this years 2020/2021 H.E.R.O.E.S. recipient: LilyField.
Lilyfield traces its roots to 1990 when Colorado Christian Services opened a satellite office in Oklahoma. As the branch office grew and became self-sufficient, a formal separation from CCS occurred in the year 2000, with the incorporation of Lilyfield, Inc., originally named Christian Services of Oklahoma, Inc.
Lilyfield continues its original purpose, which is serving women in unplanned pregnancies and helping to place their children through adoption with loving adoptive families. Services have been expanded to include home studies and post placement supervision for international adoptive families; foster care for children and youth in state custody; counseling for children and families impacted by foster care and adoption; an independent living program for female youth who have aged out of foster care; and a program that partners with Oklahoma City Public Schools to prevent circumstances that cause families to enter the child welfare system.
We would love if you wanted to donate, but more than anything we would be so grateful if you would partner along with us in prayer for this amazing organization.
